Many people don’t always look or feel their best. While having the occasional off day is normal, if how you appear or feel is frustrating you, it could be time to take action.

Luckily, some simple strategies can make a significant difference. If you want to look and feel your absolute best, here are some tips and tricks that can help, presented below by A Little Lighter.

Make Water Your Drink of Choice

If you spend your days feeling fatigued or sluggish, drinking water could make a difference. Dehydration has a major impact on both the body and mind, leaving you feeling foggy or leading to physical concerns like headaches and constipation. Additionally, it could hinder your metabolism, which isn’t ideal.

Plus, dehydration often sets in faster than you’d expect. By the time you notice it, you’re usually more than mildly dehydrated.

By drinking more water, you can avoid dehydration. Not only will you feel better, but your body will function better, too. Everybody needs water to function; in some cases, getting more water may even improve your skin, leaving you looking better, as well.

If you’re hoping to lose some weight, drinking water could make that easier. During one study, participants that drank water lost 4.4 lbs. more on average over the course of 12 weeks than non-water drinkers, making it a simple way to move closer to your weight loss goal.

Find a Workout Routine That Empowers You

Getting enough exercise can be crucial if you want to look and feel your best. However, that doesn’t mean you should do just any old routine. Instead, find ways to get the recommended 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and two days of strength training each week that you find empowering.

One great example is belly dancing. It’s excellent for improving endurance, enhancing muscle tone, improving movement control, and boosting flexibility. Plus, the sensual nature of belly dancing can be incredibly empowering.

However, it certainly isn’t the only option. For some people, CrossFit fits the bill. It involves a lot of raw power and is almost primal in some aspects, which is something many find empowering.

The type of workout you choose matters less than how it makes you feel. Consider what would ignite your passion and makes you feel strong, capable, and beautiful, and use that as your guide.

Rethink Your Career

For many people, their jobs don’t help them feel their best. Instead, they serve as a source of ongoing stress and frustration, leaving them annoyed, angry, or burned out.

While a degree of job stress is unavoidable, if your career is negatively impacting other areas of your life, you may want to reevaluate it. For example, if the stress from your job is harming your personal relationships or the lack of a challenge is leaving you bored, heading in a new direction could be wise.

Fortunately, you can quickly get on a new path by signing up for an online degree program. By attending school online, you can learn while also handling your personal and professional obligations. By choosing an online criminal justice degree, you could prepare yourself for a career in the court systems, corrections, security, or public administration. Just make sure that you choose an accredited school with competitive tuition rates, allowing you to get a quality education without breaking the bank.
